Why is this so looked down upon?

-I am writing a paper and just want to know peoples views on why is an older woman dating a younger looked down upon. Why isn't it as looked down upon as an older man dating a younger girl. And why is an older man dating a younger girl looked down upon. I'm not talking about a few years I'm talking about a large age gap. I.E. my boyfriend and I are 15 years apart, he is older and I am younger. Also this might be in the wrong category wasn't sure which one to stick it in.I think that for the most part it all comes back to gender roles. Men are traditionally thought of as being more dominant and having age on someone, male or female adds a heightened amount of dominance.
