What should I write about?

-My Creative Writing class has to create a portfolio with four pieces in it. A short story, poem, creative non-fiction piece, and a monologue. All of it has to tie into one theme. My theme is the summertime and I have a monologue about a boy breaking up with his summertime fling, a poem about going to the beach, and I know what my creative non-fiction piece is going to be about.



All I need is ideas for a short story. What's a good topic or subject to write a summertime short story on?
