So, does life have a purpose?

-As days pass by, I'm starting to become more of a nihilist. I mean seriously you guys, do you really believe there is a purpose in this whole life? That we give life a meaning? I think we're just born to live and die; none of our actions will be remembered in billions of years - as bleak as it sounds the conclusions I've got to.鈥淲hatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.鈥?-Mahatma Gandhi



Most people, for example, think they are significant and above other people because they are fighting to "save" planet earth. But, when we think about it, earth, no matter how bourgeois people live with all the things they invent that would 'give meaning' to their pathetic lives, will survive. It surpassed the Ice Age and will definitely surpass global warming. But that, for me, doesn't mean that we do nothing or just sit around and just scavenge food to keep us alive. We have, after all, minds higher than that of other living things which helps us to reason things that we do. Things we do will be insignificant, yes...but, being part of the thinking species, we have to do it anyway.
